Project Name: Aquaculture Development Consultant Dispatch Project (Bahrain)
Project Description: The Republic of China dispatches consultants to the resident Taiwan Technical Mission to carry out aquaculture technical assistance with Agriculture and Marine Resources Affairs, Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning under the Agreement of Agricultural Technical Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of China and the Government of the State of Bahrain. The main tasks of the technical consultants of Taiwan Technical Mission include: 1. To investigate the annual needs of Bahrain and to formulate an annual working plan; 2. To provide regular reports; 3. To provide consultancy services according to the implementation priorities. This project focuses on: 1. Assisting National Marine Aquaculture Center to establish and expand fry production scale; 2. Assisting in establishing an effective management system for hardware and software facilities; 3. Providing aquaculture advice.

Project Objectives: To improve the operational efficiency of the Bahrain national mariculture cente.

Current Progress: To the end of March 2021, the following activities have been completed:
1. During the spawning season, all the preparation on spawning tanks for Seabream, Sobaity and Grouper broodstock have been settled.
2. During the spawning season, the fertilized eggs of Seabream, Sobaity and Grouper have been collected and well-incubated.
3. The live food section has been well-functioning to produce the required quantity of algae, rotifer, and artemia for Seabream, Sobaity, Grouper and Small Mullet fry.
4. Thirteen batches of Sobaity, eight batch of Seabream, two batches of Grouper and some Small Mullet have been kept successfully for hatching and culturing.

Projected Benefits: 1.This project will assist with the fish propagation, rearing and growing during the spawning season for those existing culture species and the new local species.
2.This project will assist in planning a training program for new staff's on-site training for aquaculture skill.
3.This project will assist in setting up a small-scale fish feed manufacturing project by using local materials for the culturing species in the National Maruculture Center.
