Project Name: CABEI Special Fund for the Social Transformation of Central America (FETS II)
Project Description: The TaiwanICDF’s contribution to the Special Fund for the Social Transformation of Central America (FETS) is made through a loan. The project provides specific financing to sub-borrowers in Honduras and Nicaragua who, under the HIPC Initiative, are eligible to receive financing for poverty reduction programs and projects on concessional terms. Sub-Projects Allocation:(1)Honduras Rural Infrastructure Project; and (2)Program of Integral and Sustainable Development “Corredor Quetzal”-Phase II.

Implementation Arrangement: CABEI’s regional offices submits subprojects for CABEI’s authorization after assessing demand in eligible countries. Selected subprojects are agreed upon by the TaiwanICDF and Taiwanese embassies and then implemented by the regional offices. CABEI is responsible for the management and administration of subprojects under the FETS.
