Project Name: Local Characteristic Industries Development Project in El Salvador
Project Description: In order to develop the rural, Salvadoran authorities chose the area which is poor and owned local characteristic to promote industries development. Micro and small business account for 99.5% of national business, contribute 35% of GDP, and offer 67.3% of employment opportunities. Jiboa area is classified into highly poor, therefore National Commission of the Micro and Small Business (CONAMYPE) regards it as main promoting area. This area lives on cane sugar and textile industries. Because of lacking of counseling resources, industry cluster and marketing channel, nowadays, CONAMYPE only can counsel micro and small business in primary manufacturing, however, cannot effectively have a comprehensive counseling for rural micro and small business. So as to resolve these problems, CONAMYPE proposed this project to enhance counseling operational efficiency of micro and small business.
The aim of this project is to assist establishing consultant team and mechanism, to assist setting up COWORKINGs and integrate sources of Industry-Academic-Government, to strengthen the industry counseling capacity, to construct industry cluster, to assist two industries joining in association or setting up association, to integrate vertical and horizontal industry chain.

Approval Amount: US$1,400,000
Project Objectives: 1.Raise the gross profit ratio by at least 10 % of micro and small business which CONAMYPE tutored, and at least 70 enterprises.
2.Assist establishing consultant source of rural micro and small business.
3.Assist establishing industry cluster of rural micro and small business, and integrate vertical and horizontal industry chain.

Current Progress: To the end of March 2017, the following activities have been completed:
