Project Name: Small and Medium Sized Business Re-lending Project in Belarus
Project Description: The project involves co-financing with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The EBRD channels the loan to the National Bank of Belarus, which further relends the funds through five financial institutions to end borrowers that fall into the categories of the pre-decided sub-projects, with an aim to accelerate the development of the Belorussian SME sector.

Project Objectives: Improve industrial competitiveness and boost the economy by alleviating capital shortages facing small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Belarus. The project promotes the establishment, improvement and expansion of competitive and private sector activities in Belarus and foster an open, market-oriented economy by providing credit to end-borrowers through participating banks.
Executing Agency: European Bank for Reconstruction and Development
Implementation Arrangement: The National Bank of Belarus is responsible for channeling the loan to the commercial banks, for on-lending to SMEs.
