Strategies
Following comprehensive analyses of partner countries' economic
and social conditions and priorities, the ICDF designs programs
that will help them achieve their immediate and long-term economic
and social objectives. ICDF development assistance and cooperation
projects include agriculture and agribusiness development, microlending
programs, technical and vocational training and humanitarian assistance.
In executing its programs, the ICDF cooperates with other international
organizations whenever possible. The organization works closely
with local agencies, including nongovernment organizations (NGOs).
Cooperation with the private sector, especially in the development
of small and medium enterprises, is also an important ICDF strategy.
Throughout its operations, the ICDF emphasizes professionalism
and a systematic approach that makes the best use of financial resources
and technical expertise. In working with and learning from other
international organizations, professionalism and efficiency is ensured.
The ICDF endeavors to share the knowledge and advantages developed
through the "Taiwan Experience" in ways that optimize
cooperation programs and satisfy the real needs of partners. To
accomplish its aims, the ICDF encourages synergy between all parties
involved in its projects - industries, investors, planners, local
governments, international agencies, NGOs and, most importantly,
the people of the countries and regions the ICDF works with.
