TaiwanICDF, together with the teachers in St. Lucia, launched “The Project for ICT in Education in St. Lucia” to inspire students’ learning motivation and pleasure

Together with the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Gender Relations and Sustainable Development (Ministry of Education) in St. Lucia, the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) dedicates to promote the "Project for ICT in Education in St. Lucia.” It commits to enhance the ability of St. Lucia’s teachers to use ICT in education and thus to improve students’ learning effectiveness. The project begins a new phase of cooperation in ICT in education between the two countries, and aims to reach sustainable development goal of quality education.

The government of St. Lucia values the education and ICT development and integrated “ICT in education” in its educational development strategy from 2017 to 2020. As the insufficient resources which leads to the lack of successful case of using ICT in education, TaiwanICDF expects to bring in Taiwan’s experience to create a replicable case of ICT in education by improving the teachers and on-the-job training, creating an appropriate environment for ICT in education and developing long-term onsite counseling partners and networks for education. With this, the use of digital materials and online learning resources by teachers in St. Lucia will be encouraged and the teachers’ network will be established. It can further create an ICT-centric atmosphere, reforming the teaching skills and strategy which improves the learning effectiveness according.

The project is highly supported by the Ministry of Education for St Lucia. In the future, digital communication and experience exchange between the two countries’ will encourage the mutual sharing and cooperation of educational resources and assisting the sustainable development of St. Lucia's education.
