Project Name: Marine Fish Research Consultant Dispatch Project (Saudi Arabia)
Project Description:

The Republic of China dispatches consultants to the resident Taiwan Technical Mission to carry out agricultural technical assistance with Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the Agreement of Agricultural Cooperation between the Republic of China Government Represented by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabian Government. The main tasks of the technical consultants of Taiwan Technical Mission include: 1. To investigate the annual needs of Saudi Arabia and to formulate an annual working plan; 2. To provide regular reports; 3. To provide consultancy services according to the implementation priorities. This project focuses on sea bass and pompano cultivation technique development.

Project Objectives: Assist Saudi Arabia in developing marine fish breeding techniques and improving the variety preservation and nursery abilities.

2. Taiwan Technical Mission in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Current Progress: To the end of March 2020, the following activities have finished,
1.The research team has selected 30 pieces of Asian sea bass broodstocks to distribute into the spawning ponds.
2.The research team has received four pieces of snubnose pompano (Trachinotus blochii) from Island Prawn Company (IPC). The broodstock had bred from January to March. Moreover, larviculture of the pompano have successfully finished.
3.The training course of broodstock spawning had been executing.
4.The broodstock cultivation of marine tilapia and red tilapia had been executing.
5.The fry production of marine tilapia (Oreochromis spilurus) had been executing.
6.Development and cultivation of microalgae and live food section had been executing.
