The TaiwanICDF Kicks off two Workshops in July

The International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) held the Workshop on the Promotion of “One Town, One Product” Projects (Exclusive for Latin America) and the Workshop on Management of Medical Quality from July 5 to 18 and July 6 to19, respectively.

The main objective of the Workshop on the Promotion of “One Town, One Product” Projects, attended this year by 23 participants from 11 Latin American countries, is for Taiwan to share successful experiences of developing local OTOP projects with our partner countries. The TaiwanICDF hopes that participants, upon their return to their home country, can apply the knowledge they gained here to create characteristic products and develop distinctive industries in Central and South America.

Industry experts and representatives from the government and academia were invited as lecturers, providing examples of practical experience and innovative methods from different fields. Participants also had the opportunity to visit relevant creative and local institutions such as Yingge Ceramics Museum, Taiwan Creative Design Center, Jingzaijiao Tile-Paved Salt Fields, and tourism factory.

In addition, in line with global health trends, the TaiwanICDF launched its first Workshop on Management of Medical Quality to share Taiwan’s experience in developing a quality management system for medical services and improve the quality of medical care in our partner countries. A total of 30 participants from 21 nations attended this workshop.

Focusing on medical care and medical quality management, topics covered drug safety, infection control, patient safety, development of indicator system for hospitals and development of information network for hospital quality. Visits to drug resource center, medical quality management center and training hospital of qualified infection control manager were also arranged.

The TaiwanICDF hopes that, by interacting with health care providers encountered during this workshop, the participants will have a better understanding of Taiwan’s approach to improving the quality of medical services in Taiwan.
