TaiwanICDF Workshop Shares Taiwan’s Experience in E-government Development

E-government is considered an important strategy in enhancing the effectiveness of government operations and national competitiveness. Taiwan has nearly 20 years of experience in e-government implementation. As many of our Latin American allied and friendly countries are actively promoting e-governance, the TaiwanICDF organized a workshop on e-government development from April 13 to 26 for a total of 29 participants from 23 countries.

To provide participants with a comprehensive overview of e-government development in Taiwan, experts in this field from industry, government and academia were invited as guest lecturers. The workshop also provided participants with practical experience in the use of innovative approaches in different areas, with the aim of exploring new opportunities for international cooperation in e-government.

The program included visits to the National Archives Administration, Da-an District Household Registration Office, Taipei Customs Office, Academia Sinica Center for Digital Cultures and other institutions, as well as a tour to Tainan where the government has successfully carried out a smart city project. These visits provided participants with a practical understanding of e-government development and implementation in Taiwan.
