The Stories of Taiwan’s Foreign Aid Endeavors – TaiwanICDF Holds Opening Ceremony of 20th Anniversary Exhibition in Kaohsiung

The Exhibition of the Stories of Taiwan’s Foreign Aid Endeavors, featuring the achievements of the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) in international cooperation in the last 20 years, opened in Kaohsiung City on August 23, 2016. The ceremony, which took place at Kaohsiung City Hall, was jointly organized with the government of Kaohsiung City and co-hosted by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Chih-Chung Wu, and Secretary General of Kaohsiung City, Yang Ming-Jou.

The exhibition also highlights the considerable involvement of local government agencies, academic institutions and medical organizations in related efforts, as well as the contributions made by the people of Kaohsiung City who have worked with great dedication in partner countries.

On the day of the event, former Taiwan Technical Mission leaders, volunteers and members from Taiwan Youth Overseas Service with ties to Kaohsiung and TaiwanICDF scholarship recipients currently enrolled in national universities in the city were invited to share their experiences in overseas development assistance work. Featuring display boards, video screenings and multimedia, the exhibition provides insight into Taiwan’s efforts and perseverance in consolidating diplomatic ties and promoting international participation, in order to implement steadfast diplomacy so as to bring Taiwan closer to the world and the world closer to Taiwan. The exhibition will run until September 2 at Kaohsiung City Hall.
