Project Name: Medical Project in the Pacific Island Countries (Budget from MOFA)
Project Description: The TaiwanICDF is the dedicated international development organization representing the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Supporting and developing the medicine and health care within our partner countries is one of our core objectives. To realize this objective, our organization plays the role of “facilitator.” Taiwan’s health care sector is among the best in the world, and our organization draws on this comparative advantage when providing official development assistance.

This program is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of medics at recipient hospitals in our Pacific partner countries. Working in cooperation with a number of Taiwanese hospitals, the TaiwanICDF dispatches medical teams to provide clinical services and share their experiences with local medical professionals.

Project Objectives: The Taiwanese doctors and medical personnel of Medical Teams not only provide medical treatments, but also work with local medical professionals and offering clinical training, demonstrations, and technical exchanges, in order to strengthen the capacity of medical professionals to take care serious patients.
Executing Agency: The TaiwanICDF, Wan Fang Hospital, Machay Memorial Hospital, Chung Shan Medical University Hosopital, Kaohsiung Medical University Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital, Changhua Christian Hospital, Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital, Taichung Veterans General Hospital .
Implementation Arrangement: The TaiwanICDF dispatch medical missions, in cooperation with a number of Taiwanese hospitals,to provide assistance on specific medical problem which is following the needs of Pacific partner countries
Current Progress: This project implement year by year and started in 2012. The project of 2012 has completed.
The project of 2013 is on the stage of needs investigation.
Implementation Progress: The project of 2012 has completed.
The project of 2013 will be completed on 31th December in 2013.
Project Performance: The medical professionals at recipient hospitals in our Pacific partner countries will have greater capacity to care the complicated and serious patients to diminish expediture of refarrel.
